Brand-new brand

Made a resolution to be sportier in 2016? New label Eiger Classic Alpine has the bracing outdoor life in mind, inspired as it is by the golden era of early 20th-century mountain exploration. Founded by friends Chris Pratt and Tom Evans, it was a photo album of the former's grandmother that sparked the idea for the brand: the pioneering lady in question, J. Hanlin, was a ski champion in the 1950's and her mountain-ready attire offered a veritable mood board of outdoorsy panache. The result is a collection of solid knitwear and handsome leather accessories that fly in the face of the usual garish, heavily branded skiwear. Using British manufacturing along - the sweaters are made in Leicestershire and the leather pieces in the town of Melton Mowbray - Eiger looks set to scale new sartorial heights.
